How to do a Baytown weekend in 2026

Saturday market downtown, Sunday on the water. The template we reuse every week.

Lock Saturday morning downtown. Town Square markets, Art Alley before the light goes flat, a table at Rooster’s or Bocanegra’s. Do not ‘swing by downtown’ after Garth. Downtown is the morning.

Saturday afternoon belongs to water or birds. Nature Center if you can walk. O’Neals if you cannot. Pirates Bay if the people in the back seat are under twelve and it is still summer.

Saturday night, if you want a table that looks at ships: Anchor & Hearth at the Hyatt, 100 Convention Center Way. Not Texas Avenue. Wood fire, oysters, tankers. Or stay downtown for Wazabi (Tue–Sat, 5–10).

Sunday is slower: Cuban Cafe if they’re open (Saturday yes, Sunday no — so make it Doughnut Wheel or Heart and Whisk), ferry if you have an hour (weekends the first boat is 11 a.m., not dawn), Yepez if you have two. O’Neals often has afternoon music. Eat shrimp. Drive the bridge on the way out so the last image is the one that should be.
