A 9,000-square-foot hall on Goose Creek that does the thing a city nature center should: live animals, honest exhibits, no ticket drama. Gator World (juveniles), Land of Milk and Honey (a live hive), a butterfly garden, an indoor boardwalk.

Pair it with the Nature Center the same day — indoor first if it’s 95°. Free. Monday–Friday 8 to 4, Saturday 10 to 4, closed Sunday. Field trips book through Parks & Rec.
