Seven acres of pirate-themed water at 5300 East Road: lazy river, wave pool, slides, the FlowRider, and the first NinjaCross in North America. It is a city park that competes with private waterparks, which is a flex.

2026 season opens May 23. Hours shift through the summer — they are not a single daily window, so use the operations calendar on baytownpiratesbay.com before you pack the cooler. General admission has been in the mid-$30s at the gate; choose-a-day online is cheaper if you pick the date early. Season pass around $79. Toddler Tuesdays and Friday Night Live come with the pass.

Go on a weekday. Bring shade. For little kids who will be swallowed by the wave pool, Calypso Cove at N.C. Foote Park (2428 W Main) is the smaller municipal splash, $6–$8.
